Select Lab from the MetaField home page and then choose Soil Proctor Results.

There are 2 options for entering the Proctor information:

Add Proctor
  • Use when entering Proctors for different projects or to add a single Proctor quickly – without searching for a project first.
View Proctors
  • Use when you want to add several Proctors to a single project or want to view Proctors already added to a project.
  • You will need to first search for the desired project or one from the Recent Projects list. Select the View Proctors link next to the project and then Add Proctor for this Project.

 

Proctor Fields to Complete

Project Number
  • Enter the exact project number to which the Proctor applies.
  • If you are adding a Proctor to a project already selected, this field will be completed for you.
  • This is a required field

 

Proctor ID
  • Enter in the proctor identification.
  • This is a required field.
Soil Classification
  • Select the appropriate soil classification.
  • This list is maintained by your Business Administrator.
  • This is a required field.
Soil Classification Description
  • After selecting a Soil Classification, the description will automatically be populated.
  • This field is read-only.
  • Descriptions are maintained by you Business Administrator.
Color
  • Enter the soil color.
Size
  • Enter the soil particle size.
Opt. Moisture
  • Enter the Optimum Moisture of the Proctor.
  • This is a required field.
Max Density
  • Enter the Maximum Density for the Proctor.
  • This is a required field.

Editing a Proctor

To edit existing Proctor information in MetaField:
  1. In Lab, go to Soil Proctor Results and choose View Proctors.
  2. Locate the project with the Proctor(s) you would like to edit and select to View Proctors hyplerlink prior to the project number
  3. A list of Proctors for the select project will appear.  Select the Edit button next to the Proctor you would like to edit.

Deactivate, Activate, Delete and View History on Proctors

From the View Proctors screen in Lab, you can deactivate, activate, delete or view history on a Proctor.

Deactivate
  • Proctor is unavailable for use on future Soil Density tests and is hidden from dropdown lists in Field. 
  • Deactivated Proctors will display in the main grid in Quality Control as well as on Reports.
  • If you choose to edit a test with a deactivated Proctor, on the edit screen you will see Pending Proctor and you will need to select an Active Proctor.
Activate
  • Used to change Inactive Proctor to Active.  
  • Once change to Active, the Proctor will be available in the Field dropdown list.
History
  • View the create and last modified user and date.
Edit
  • Opens the record to make changes.
Delete
  • Permanently deletes the Proctor from the system.
  • Only Proctors that have not been associated with a density test can be deleted.
