Purpose

The Cast Cylinder Diameter Averages module allows labs to take a daily "sampling" of cast cylinders that are scheduled to be tested that day and record the individual diameter measurements. The system will average those measurements (for the day, lab and cylinder size) and default the calculated average into the Diameter 1 and Diameter 2 fields when completing a Cast Cylinder test.

  • System requires at least three (3) cylinders be measured or the total number of cylinders scheduled for a day / 10, whichever is greater

Adding Daily Measurements

Filter the screen by Lab, Specimen Size and Date. This will check to see if any data has been entered for that lab, size, date yet. If results exist, they will be shown. If no results have been entered yet, the Add Measurements button will be enabled. Click the Add Measurements button to enter measurements for the calculated sample size based on the rules noted above. Enter the Diameter 1 and Diameter 2 measurements for each cylinder. The Average Diameter for each cylinder will be calculated and then the overall average for the lab, size and date will be calculated. The overall average is used as the default in the Diameter 1 and Diameter 2 fields on the actual test for that day, cylinder size and lab.
