Release Highlights

  • AgilePort 3.0 - Introduced and integrated directly with MetaField and no longer based on SharePoint (discuss deployment plans with Solutions Consultant)

Administration

General

  • Updated user interface introduced

Security

Reports

  • Updated user interface introduced
  • Due to the growing number of reports in the system, report types and their respective filters separated into different tabs:
    • Activity (any report based on and Activity record)
    • Lab Test (any report based on a Sample Tracking test record)
    • Discrete (concrete, density)
    • Uploaded (anything uploaded into the system)
    • Consolidated (any reports consolidated in Delivery)
  • Signature Note - Character limit increased from 250 to 300 to allow for more text beneth a digitial signature
  • "Imported" report type removed as it was not in use
  • New Report Types can be added for the Uploaded grouping - this allows users to assign an actual "type" when uploading a report; useful when Emailing reports, Searching for Uploaded reports and in AgilePort 3.0
  • New Report Types can be added for the Consolidated grouping - this allows users to assign an actual "type" when creating a consolidated report; useful when Emailing reports, Searching for Uploaded reports and in AgilePort 3.0
  • Minor relabeling of a few filter controls for ease of use
  • Digital Signature configuration module added so digitial signature settings can be controlled at a higher level and used across multiple reports (versus having to define at the report level)
  • Reports will now reference a digitial signature configuraiton record instead of defining all digitial signature variables on each report

Concrete / Grout / Mortar

  • Updated user interface introduced
  • General Settings - User can set a default to include / exclude additional specimens when generating a batch report in the LIMS queues (All Specimens versus Selected Specimens)

Activity

  • Text Library - Sort order can be defined - Chronologcial, Alphabetical, Alphabetical With Global Paragrahs First - this setting determines the order that the text praragphas appear in Field and in Admin

Density Testing

  • Updated user interface introduced

LIMS

  • Compressive Strength Alerts - Percent of Strength value updated to allow 2 decimals of precision
  • Material Group & Material entities have been added
  • Specimen sizes can be associated with Sample forms in order to pre-filter specimen size selections based on the sample form
  • Specimen Sizes - Physical dimension fields from the Specimen Size screen have been removed as they were not used for anything in MetaField
  • Specimen Sizes - Grid column labels updated to provide more clarity
  • System Sample Groups can be inactivated if not used

Form Designer

  • Expression Builder - Several functions added to support more advanced LIMS / Activity formulas. Functions introduced include (see HELP for additional documentation on how these can be used):
    • RIGHT string function
    • LEFT string function
    • MID string function
    • CONCATENATE function
  • Expression Builder - Various changes:
    • PRIOR function can now be use inside another expression
    • ROUND function expanded to allow for a number to be rounded UP or DOWN to the closest whole number (i.e. 4.2 rounds up to 5)
    • Field list sorting added to make locating a field easier for larger forms
    • Validation improved to provide more specific details about errors in expression strings
    • Expressions can reference fields in forms at a higher level in the hierarchy (i.e. a test field can use a specimen field in its calculation, a specimen field can use a sample field in its calculation)
    • Pick list field values can now be used in expressions
  • Field Settings - Various changes:
    • Default Option can be defined for pick list fields
    • Multiple choice fields can be mapped to a data source (same as in previous versions where a pick list field can be mapped to a data source)
    • Pick lists of users can be limited to just display users designated as Lab Technicians
    • Pick list can be mapped to a Data Source of ONLY Technicians (without Generic Users in the list)
    • Pick list can be mapped to a Data Source of ONLY Lab Technicians (without Generic Users in the list)
    • Fraction field type added - allow for the entry of a whole number, numerator and denominator (calculations also can be performed on Fraction fields)
    • Test forms can have a default specimen size optionally defined on them so new specimens for tests will default to that specimen size
    • Clear on Copy property now also clears the contents of a data grid field when an Activity record is copied to create a new Activity record (Clear on Copy behavior where data is cleared when copying a data grid record still persists)
    • System Name will be suggested (appear) in real-time as the Field Name is first entered
  • Validation Rules - New validation rules introduced so users can include their own validations on DIY forms (i.e. Date 1 must be > Date 2); all validations must be corrected prior to saving a record
  • Proctor Test Template - Proctor Copied field is now editable so users can force the proctor test data to be available to copy into Proctor record again by clearing the Proctor Copied field
  • Inactive form groups can no longer have active forms underneath them (applies to Activity, Samples, Tests)
  • System Name introduced for all DIY forms (similar to the System Name on individual fields)
  • Sample Forms - Specimen sizes can be associated with the sample form to pre-filter specimen sizes when adding sample records
  • Test Forms - Sample form relationship can change if there are no test records in the system that use that form or after a form is copied
  • Discrepancy Indicator validation added to ensure it is only applied one time per form; system only supports this configuration

Report Designer

  • Table Elements - Main level, Section, Report Meta Data and Report Resources fields can be added to a table (note: mixing Main level, Section, Report Meta Data and Report Resources with fields contained inside data grid is NOT currently supported)
  • Table Elements - Move Column functionality added to move columns left / right or up / down in a table to facilitate changing the column order
  • Table Elements - When a data grid is added, the fields will be order the same as in Form Desiger, these can be adjusted later as needed
  • Group By property added to condense elements that repeated on Sample Tracking (Sample & Test) reports
  • Shading of panels now supported
  • Shading of table cells now supported
  • Option to display ALL options (as check boxes or a list of values) introduced for Multiple Choice, Pick List and Yes / No fields, you may also choose to only display selected options as checkboxes versus all options
  • Display File Uploads setting added to control which uploaded files display on your report - All or Added To Report Template (just files explicitly added to the report)

Field

Activity

  • Preventative code added to avoid multiple insertions of a new Activity record on a slow data connection
  • Users will be prompted if they try to leave the screens before saving any data in the process of being entered
  • Data grid and nested data grid content copies when an Activity record is copied to create a new Activity record

Sample Tracking

Quality Control

General

  • Action buttons above grid ("Change Status","Preview Report", "Finalize Report", etc.) moved to the left side of the screen
  • Validation will check to make sure a project manager is assigned to a project before a report can be finalized
  • Reports have the option to be emailed at the same time they are finalized (permission must be assigned to allow emailing from QC)
  • Reports have the option to be made public at the same time they are finalized (applies to AgilePort 3.0, permission must be assigned to allow this action from QC)
  • Reports can have multiple labels assigned to them instead of just one
  • Email history pop up will capture reports emailed from QC as well as disclosing the source of where reports were emailed from (QC, Delivery, LIMS)
  • User will be returned to the same page position when editing a record in QC (versus being returned to page 1 of the results)

Concrete / Grout / Mortar

  • Field Cure Location and Standard Cure Location fields display in the Pick Up Information pop up
  • Test Age is now required for specimen-based samples; this change was made to facilate dashboard alerting based on break results at certain ages
  • Confusing references to "Draft" reports when creating a batch report have been removed

Density

  • "Change Status" button moved to the left side of the button bar

Sample Tracking

  • Test results are cleared on a test record if the test is marked as Untested as it is assumed that if a specimen is untested there will be no test results
  • For ease of use, first grid record will be expanded by default (versus last)
  • Text Area fields improved to show more content without needing to scroll
  • Test Group and Test will display in the header bar of the Lab Instructions grid (versus "Record 1", "Record 2", etc.)
  • To facilitate reporting workflow and match other QC areas, user will be asked if they want to create a report if they change the status of a test to Complete
  • Lab Instructions - Test list will pre-filter based on current sample form to make data entry succinct
  • To avoid loosing test data, sample can only be deleted if all of it's specimens are in the Draft or Logged status
  • To avoid loosing test data, specimen can only be deleted if it is in the Draft or Logged status and after deleting there remains at least one specimen associated with the sample
  • Similar to other areas of QC, Test status will update to Analyzed if test results change
  • Layout of the Edit screen changed to better align fields and provide more space for longer text fields

  • Various "Report" label changes have been made to add clarity on filter controls and data columns
  • "Uploaded" report types that are emailed will reference the Upload Type in the email body
  • Consolidated Reports - A "type" of report can be assigned when creating a consolidated report
  • Consolidated Reports - More descriptive tile (using the new "type") is included when emailed out
  • Uploaded Reports - A "type" of report can be assigned when uploading an external report
  • Uploaded Reports - Users will be alerted if trying to upload a PDF file with dynamic fields
  • Button added to change the Report Type of Uploaded reports (note: the report will be updated in Delivery only, any emails / AgilePort 3.0 notifications previously sent will still contain the old Report Type reference)
  • Button added to change the Consolidated Type of Consolidated reports (note: the report will be updated in Delivery only, any emails / AgilePort 3.0 notifications previously sent will still contain the old Report Type reference)
  • Users with the Delivery Read-Only permission will only have read-only access to Delivery

Scheduling

  • Performance improvements made to the real-time data communication and updates (i.e. another user complete a work order and the scheduler sees that real time)
  • Requested By Name and Phone Number added to the work order information so field users have this information available to them
  • Upon adding or eding a work order user is returned to the same date on the screen that they started
  • Report Recipients set up in Project Administration can be referenced when selecting names for the "Requested By" field by simply typing in part of the name (entering names not on the Report Reciepient list is still supported)
  • Technician View - All Technicians will now display whether they have scehduled work orders assigned yet or not -
  • Technician View - "Technician Availability" filter added display all technicians, those who are free or those who have previously been scheduled

Dashboard

  • Left navigation menu made more consistent within the application
  • Activity Section - User can filter to a certain Group / Form to see queue counts for a specific group and form
  • Draft Reports Section - Reports To Review queue added to display counts of all reports in Draft Reports waiting to be reviewed
  • C/GM Section - Logged FC Queue - Records are shaded if the system date is now past the planned test date (to highlight field cure specimens that may not have been picked up and need to be reconciled in the system)

Project Administration

Specifications

  • Distribution List section renamed to Distribution
  • Distribution section enhanced to integrate with AgilePort 3.0 - allowing you to select from Project Collaborators and AgilePort 3.0 Users
  • Left navigation menu made more consistent within the application
  • Specified Test Age added to Concrete / Grout / Mortar specifications grid
  • Reports section renamed to be Reports / Labels
  • Reports / Labels - Project-specific labels introduced so reports for a project can be tagged with labels specific to that project
  • Reports / Labels - Project-specific digital signature configurations introduced so reports for certain projects can have a different digital signature (i.e. Florida projects require a PE seal and all other states don't require a PE seal on reports)
  • Reports / Labels - Report name can be searched / filtered on in the Reports grid for ease of use
  • Section labels in the Costs section modified to add clarity - "Concrete / Grout / Mortar Lab Test Costs" and "Sample Tracking Lab Test Costs"

  • Email history pop up will capture reports emailed from LIMS and now disclose the source of where reports were emailed from (QC, Delivery, LIMS)

Concrete / Grout Mortar Work Queues

  • Only users with the "Approve Results" permission will be able to approve lab test results
  • Low break alerts will now be based on 2 decimal points of precision - Percent of Specified Strength
  • Batch report creation supported from the To Review and Done queues, access to batch reporting is controlled through permissioning
  • Finalize All option added to the batch report creation process to finalize all reports in the batch in one action (without reviewing each report) - security settings control access to this function
  • Done Queue - Report Status filter added to allow you to see specimens that have been reported on or not
  • Done Queue - Reported On icon / pop up added to facilate viewing reports that include that specimen
  • Button bars ("Receive Specimen", "Print Receiving List", "Enter Test Results", etc,) moved to the left side of the screen
  • To add clarity, specimen Size filter control only shows specimen sizes associated with C/G/M sample types

Sample Tracking Work Queues

  • Only users with the "Approve Results" permission will be able to approve lab test results
  • Testable Queue - "Next Test Action Date" added as column, allowing you to easily see when you need to perform an action for a given test
  • Tests In Progress Queue - This queue was removed and consolidated into the Testable queue for ease of use
  • Custom specimen fields will copy as a result of the system adding new specimens in the test assignment process
  • Batch report creation supported from the To Review and Done queues, access to batch reporting is controlled through permissioning
  • "Finalize All" option added to the batch report creation process to finalize all reports in the batch in one action (without reviewing each report) - security settings control access to this function
  • Done Queue - Report Status filter added to allow you to see tests that have been reported on or not

Soil Proctor Results

  • Button bars ("Add Proctor", "Copy Proctor", etc.) moved to the left side of the screen

Bituminous Results

  • Button bars ("Add Density Result", "Display Order") moved to the left side of the screen

Lab Documents

  • Button bars moved to the left side of the screen

Reports

  • Soil Nuclear Gauge - Lower sections reformatted to make more vertical room for digitial signatures (lessening the chance for orphaned signatures on page 2)
  • Concrete Placement Summary - Various label changes to add clarity (Placement Date, Specified Strength (psi), Specified MOR (psi), Load Volume, adding mix design strength to Mix Design field value)
  • Activity Field Report - Added ability to filter an attached Discrepancy Log by Activity Group & Form (i.e. only show discrepancies for a given business vertical on a project versus all verticals)
  • Reports will use the new digitial signature settings and project-defined digital signature settings will take priority over global digital signature settings
  • Concrete Density Report - Specified Dry Unit Weight field moved to the Specifications section on the report

Utilities

  • Remaining data extract modules standardized so data extracts and billing extracts could be executed from the same screen
    • Field Cost Data Extract
    • Soil Proctor Data Extract
    • Bituminous Data Extract
  • Added the ability to "unbill" a record

User Interface

  • Login screen user interface framework has been updated
  • Gray navigation buttons that appeared in the upper right corner of many screens updated to be the standard blue button color

AgilePort 3.0

AgilePort 3.0 is introduced as part of the MetaField 2.10 release. This new version of AgilePort is more directly integrated with MetaField and no longer involves SharePoint as the base platform. Existing AgilePort implementations based on SharePoint will remain functional until a transition plan can be determined. Detailed implementation planning should be conducted with your Solutions Consultant at Agile Frameworks.

A vareity of changes were made in MetaField to support the new AgilePort platform:

  • Administration - users, security, branding (colors), notification configurations
  • Project Administration - collaborator integration, distribution management
  • Reports - ability to make reports public in AgilePort at the time of finalization
  • Delivery - makeing reports public / not public, label management
