Project Information

MetaFieldTM Project Information lets users store project information on their mobile device for quick access, even when the device is offline.

  • The Project Information page can be bookmarked for offline use, making it particularly useful when field technicians are working in remote locations with limited wireless data connectivity. 
  • “What type of Project Information is available?”
  • The most common examples are client contact information & project accounting information.

Project Information is populated from your company’s source systems
(i.e. other applications your company uses to manage their business – accounting, CRM, and/or Project management systems.)

  • Project Information can be saved for up to 5 projects.
  • Information shown is read only. 

 

How to Access Project Information

  • Select Project Information on the Field home page.

 Note:   Depending on your device settings, the first time you use

Project Information, you may see a message like the one in the screenshot below.  

If you do, select Allow.  

  • Select Search for Project.
  • Select a project from the “Recent Projects” List, or search for a project using the Search Projects Button.

Once a Project is selected, it is automatically saved and displays on the “Saved Projects” list that is shown on the first screen within the Project Information area.  Projects on the “Saved Projects” list will remain until they are either manually removed by the user or are displaced by 5 more recently saved projects.

 

 

How to Remove Project Information

Projects can be manually removed from the “Saved Projects” list in 2 ways:

  • To delete items one at a time, select the project from Saved Projects, then select Remove Project at the bottom of the screen that displays the Project Information.
  • To delete all items from Saved Projects, select Clear Local Cache.

 

To View Project Information:

  • Select a project from the “Saved Projects” list. 
    Current info rmation will be displayed from your source systems when online. 
    When accessing on a device that is offline, you will see the data that was cached the last time you accessed the project’s information with an active connection. 
  • Click on the Project Manager’s e-mail address to generate an email to the PM
  • Click on the Work Location link to access driving directions or a Google map of the location
