Concrete / Grout / Mortar - Sample Administration

Table of Contents

Purpose

The Sample Administration tab allows you to Delete, Move and Renumber sets.

Deleting / Moving Renumbering Concrete Sets

Samples can be deleted, moved to another project or a set number can be renumbered. In all cases, a project number needs to be supplied before you can select the impacted sets. Once the impacted sets are selected, you perform one of the three functions.

FunctionBehavior
Delete
  • Deletes the selected set
  • Renumbers sets AFTER the deleted set to fill the void in the set numbering series
Move
  • Moves the set to another project
  • Renumbers sets AFTER the moved set to fill the void in the set numbering series
  • Assigns the next available set number to the sample in the target project
Renumber Set
  • Assigns a new set number to the set
  • Generally performed if the starting set number is incorrectly assigned in Field
  • Renumbers sets AFTER the renumbered set to fill the voids in the set numbering series

Example: Sets 1 and 2 were saved without supplying a starting set number (by mistake), but were supposed to be sets 37 and 38 instead. The Sample Management utility can be used to renumber set 1 to be set 37. Subsequently, set 2 will be renumbered to be set 38.

We HIGHLY recommend notifying the lab of any modifications to sets (deleted, moved, renumbered).
