Specifications

  • Specifications may have preexisting values based on Project Specs - Density.
  • Using the check box, Moisture Specifications may or may not be required.
  • After selecting a Proctor, characteristics of the Proctor will display.  These values come from Lab.
  • NOTE:  You may also view the proctor curve or image by selecting View Proctor Curve or View Proctor Image.  These buttons will not exist if there are not attachments to the proctor.  For instruction on how to attach an image to a proctor, see Soil Proctor Results
  • To see more proctor metadata, select the Show More Data button.

Sand Cone Test

  • Select the name of the Sand Cone you wish to use for the test.
    • Depending on the Sand Cone selected, the Sand Cone test will default according to which calibration Method ( A or B ) was used.
    • In some cases, a Sand Cone may be calibrated via Method's A & B. In this case, the user will be allowed to select the appropriate Method to use in Field.
  • Surface Condition will default to Smooth. If the surface of the test is Rough, switch this field to Rough Surface - Alternate Test Method and MetaField will adjust accordingly.

        

  • Select the Oversize Rock Correction check box to apply a correction factor to the Max Dry Density (pcf) and Optimum Moisture (%)The system will automatically mark this true if a proctor has been selected where the Lab has indicated that Field rock corrections are needed. This can be overridden if a rock correction is not needed. 


Entering Moisture Content Data

  • Pan # is not a requirement to enter when saving a Sand Cone Test.  Instead, as long as Pan Wt, Dry Soil + Pan Wt, and Wet Soil + Pan Wt are entered, the test will save as Analyzed.
  • For Moisture Content Tests, if one or more fields (Pan Wt, Dry Soil + Pan Wt, and Wet Soil + Pan Wt) are left blank, the test will save as Pending.

Field Notes & WBS

  • Fields notes are optional and internal notes only.
  • Fields notes are not reportable.
  • Work Breakdown Structure will be available.
  • Select Finish when complete.

Save Test

  • Once all required fields have been complete, select Save Test.
  • If any required fields have not been complete, MetaField will first highlight the section the missing fields are in.
  • Open a red highlighted section to complete the test.
  • No labels
