To support Soil Density testing, a minimal amount of Proctor data must be entered for active projects.
Proctor testing of soil samples is done in a lab. Therefore, data entry into the MetaField™ Lab component is done by lab personnel (and/or by other assigned individuals who are forwarded this information from the lab).
Proctor results need to be entered into MetaField™ before Soil Density tests (using a nuclear gauge) can be completed
To enter Proctor information into MetaField:
- Begin by selecting Lab from the MetaField home page.
- On the first screen in the Lab area, select Soil Proctor Results.
- Next, there are 2 options for entering the Proctor information:
- Select Add Proctor or Select View Proctors
- Which option do you choose?
- Use Add Proctor when entering Proctors for different projects or to add a single Proctor quickly – without searching for a project first.
- Use View Proctors when you have many Proctors to enter for a single project and want to view them as entered.
- If the Add Proctor option is chosen, follow these steps:
- Fill out all required fields.
- Select Save.
- If the View Proctors option is chosen, follow these steps:
- Use the Search feature to locate the project the Proctor will be related to,
- then select the View Proctors link for that project.

- Select View Proctors next to a project on the list of Recent Projects
- After selecting View Proctors, a list of the Proctors for the chosen project will display.
- To add a new Proctor
- select Add Proctor For This Project.
- In pop-up window, fill all required fields.
- Select Save.
How to Edit a Proctor
To edit existing Proctor information in MetaFieldä,
§Locate the project with the Proctor(s) you would like to edit

Proctors can also be Deactivated or Deleted on this screen

What is the difference between Deactivate and Delete?
§Deactivated = Proctor is unavailable for use on future
Soil Density tests, and is hidden from dropdown lists in Field.
It can be re-activated by clicking on the Deactivate/Activate

Proctor Order Display
When assigning a Proctor to a Soil Density test – the Field user selects a Proctor from a dropdown list.
By default, the Proctors will appear in the order they were entered – not necessarily numerical or alphabetical order.

To change the order in which Proctors display in the dropdown list, follow these steps:
§Navigate to the Proctor list for a project (see below).
§Select Display Order.
§Drag and drop the Proctors in the desired order.
§Select OK.
