About QC - Concrete

  • This section of QC allows you to review Concrete Tests as well as build and finalize reports.
  • When you first start using QC, you will need to search for a project from the project search panel.  Recent projects you have worked with will display below for easy access. 
  • Select View Tests to open the project and see the associated Tests.

Specimen Statuses - Automatically Assigned

StatusDefinition

Draft

Sample has been saved, but has incomplete data.

Logged

Specimen is ready to be Picked Up and/or Checked In.

Picked Up

Specimen has been “Picked Up” by a Field user and not yet checked into the lab.

Checked In

Specimen has been "Checked In" to lab for testing.

Analyzed

Testing is complete and test results are available. Review process may begin.

The Pick Up step is not a required step in Field. Specimens can jump straight from Logged to Checked In.

Specimen Statuses - Manually Assigned

StatusDefinition

Review

Optional status that can be applied to any specimen that requires further review before reporting.

Complete

Applied when test data review is complete and the specimen is ready for reporting.

Uncollected

Specimens were never Picked Up or Checked In from the field.

Tip

If a specimen is incorrectly marked as Uncollected in Field, a Quality Control user can set the status back to Logged.

titleReview Status
  • The use of the "Review" status can be determined by each business using MetaField.
  • A common use of the "Review" status is used to indicate that the QC user has started to review the Specimen, but is not yet ready for reporting.

How to Review & Edit Data

Select Quality Control on the home screen, then select Concrete.

2.Search for the project that includes the Samples you'd like view.

Recently opened Projects are stored beneath the Search Panel.

3.Selecting View Samples  will open the Sample Review  screen where every Sample for that project is displayed on the Concrete Samples table.

Directly under the Concrete Samples table is the Concrete Specimens table.

In order to display the Concrete Specimens table you want to review,make sure the according Concrete Sample row has been selected (row is blue).

titleField Notes

If there were Field Notes recorded about the Sample, a Comment icon will be shown on the far right end of the table.

titleSpecimens Display
  • The Specimens displayed in the Concrete Specimens Table are related only to the Sample which is currently highlighted on the table above. 
    Therefore, you can only view Specimens for one Sample at a time.
  • The check boxes on the left end of the Concrete Samples table are used for creating reports, not for controlling what appears on the bottom Concrete Specimens table.

Related Samples

If a sample is related to another record, this relationship will be indicated on the QC grid.

Select the arrow icon to display the related samples.

Concrete Specimens Table

Above the Concrete Specimens table are two buttons:  View Break Remarks & View Fracture Types.

When either button is selected, a pop-up will appear with a legend defining the codes used in the Concrete Specimens table.

Editing

To edit on the Sample Review screen, select the edit button next to the Sample or Specimen to be edited.

titleEditing of Cast / Logged Date
  • The Cast / Logged Date for a sample may be edited until one more specimens has been checked-in to Lab. Once a specimen has been checked-in, this date cannot be changed.

 

How to Assign Statuses

  • Complete status indicates the Specimen has been reviewed.
