About Field Concrete
This section of MetaFields allows you to record data specific to concrete pours and sample management. In MetaField these different activities are broken down into the Sample Types listed below.

| Sample Type | Description |
|---|
| Truck Log | - Used for logging information regarding the delivery of concrete only
- No field tests are performed
- No samples are collected.
|
| Field Test | - Used for logging information regarding the delivery of concrete and various tests performed in the field (e.g., Air Content, Slump, etc.)
- No specimens are collected
|
| Cast Cylinder | - Used for logging information regarding the delivery of concrete and various tests performed in the field (e.g., Air Content, Slump, etc.)
- Specimens are cast in the field for compressible strength lab testing
|
| Beam | - Used for logging information regarding the delivery of concrete and various tests performed in the field (e.g., Air Content, Slump, etc.)
- Specimens are molded in the field for modulus of rupture lab testing
|
| Density Test | - Used for logging information regarding the delivery of concrete and various tests performed in the field (e.g., Air Content, Slump, etc.)
- Specimens are cast in the field for lightweight density testing lab testing

Selecting a Project
To select a project, you can choose the Search Projects button. If you are already in a project, you can change projects by selecting the Project Number.
Last Logged Sample
If the project you are working with has already had samples logged to it, you will see the details regarding the last logged sample. This may be helpful in determining the next set number for you to record on your cylinder molds.
Concrete specimens saved in a Draft status will not display in this section.
Entering a Concrete Sample
After you have selected a project to work with, you will be taken to the main concrete sample screen. Depending upon the Sample Type you select, buttons to various screens will be exposed below.

| Technician | - Select the person who is performing these tasks
- Defaults to logged in user

| Date Logged / Cast | - Record the date by typing in a value or selecting from the calendar

| Pour Location | - Select corresponding location from the drop-down
- List is controlled by your MetaField Business Administrator
- This is a required field

| Location Details | - Type in additional location information
- 500 character limit.
- This is a required field
|
| Longitude | - Longitude (in degrees) where the activity is happening

| Project Location ID | - Client defined field to identify granular site locations based on business process.
- This information displays in QC only, not on reports.

Specifications
After you have completed the main Concrete Sample screen, select Specifications. This is the area you would record the various project specifications for your Concrete Sample.

Min/Max Wet Unit Weight
Min/Max Dry Unit Weight | - Enter unit weight specifications
- Displays for Sample Type Density Test

| Lower/Upper Specified Air Limit | - Enter specifications related to air content
|
| Lower/Upper Specified Slump | - Enter specifications related to slump
|
Notes & WBS
This screen allows you to enter notes pertaining to the current sample. These notes are only internal notes that can be viewed in the Quality Control module. In addition the project work breakdown structure for this field transaction can be defined along with the number of hours spent on this work.
Saving a Concrete Sample
You have two options when saving: Save and Save As Draft.

| Save | - Saves the sample with a status of Logged.
- Sample will be available in QC.
- Sample can be included on a Daily Report.
|
| Save As Draft | - Saves the sample with a status of Draft
- Sample will NOT be available in QC
- Sample will NOT be available to be included on a Daily Report.
- Can be accessed within the Manage Concrete Samples Field Screen

After you have successfully saved a sample, you will have the option of copying the sample you just entered.
