Prior to retrieving data from Forney specimens must be sent to Forney via a manual call. Updates to samples which have been created in Forney will be automatically observed by the integration and updated in ForneyVault. The automated tasks checks for samples that have been updated every 30 minutes.

Specimen post calls can be initiated through the "Export to Forney" button. When initiated, all checked records will be sent to Forney through an API call, once successfully transmitted the Exported flag will be changed to "Yes". Once exported a unique key, created by MetaField, will have been sent to Forney and stored in the MetaField database. This field will not be exposed but will serve as the link for record in ForneyVault and MetaField.

If a specimen which has been exported is re-exported MetaField will update the existing record in ForneyVault.

The following fields are sent to Forney from MetaField

  • Project Number
  • Lab ID
  • Sample Number + Specimen Test Age
  • Height (If specimen size defined in admin)
  • Diameter 1 & 2 (If specimen size defined in admin)
  • Set Number
  • Specimen Number
  • Specified Strength
  • Specified Strength Test Age

Prisms

The "Retrieve From Forney" action is available on grout and mortar prism sample types within the To Test queue in LIMS. When the call to Forney is initiated, MetaField will attempt to retrieve break data from Forney for each specimen that appears on the screen. MetaField will populate all data that is present either in the ForneyVault database or through predefined default values in the Administration area.
