About

  • There may be circumstances where concrete samples are either untested or uncollected.
  • Untested or Uncollected specimen will need to be identified in either QC and/or LabLIMS.
  • Listed below, are different routes untested or uncollected specimen can go without interfering with other projects or results.

Marking Specimen as Uncollected in Field

  • Users have the option to mark a specimen as uncollected when performing a pick-up.
  • Select the appropriate sample, and then select the pick-up button.

  • Once at the pick-up screen, change the status of the specimen from Picked Up to Uncollected.
  • Next, select which specimen in the set, should be marked as uncollected.
  • Select Save

3.Specimens marked as uncollected, will not appear in
Lab
LIMS.  These specimen will only appear in QC, with a status of Uncollected.No test results available for uncollected specimen.

In cases where uncollected specimen are accidentally marked as Picked Up, the following method will complete the specimen with no test results.

  • If the a specimen has been marked as picked up, select the Check In button.
  • This will open the Check In menu to move the specimen to the
Lab
  • LIMS module in the To Receive queue.

The next steps are performed in the

Lab

LIMS module.

  • Receive the specimen.  This will move it to the Testablequeue.

  • Locate the specimen in the Testable queue and use the Modify Test Datecontrol to change the date to current to move it to the To Test queue.

  • Locate the specimen in the To Test queue and select the Enter Test Resultsbutton.
  • Once the Enter Test Results panel has opened, mark the specimen as Untested. 
  • Select Save.

  • Locate the specimen in the To Review queue and approve it.
  • This marks the specimen as Complete in QC with no test results.

  • The following example is what appears in QC if the above steps are complete.
  • No test results would show for the indicated specimen.
