Purpose

The Project Security tab can be used to limit user access to a specific project. For example, if a project is for the Department of Defense and needs to be treated as confidential, additional security settings can be put in place so that only a limited number of users have access to the data. Only project managers for the project and users with rights to manage user security can change these project security settings.

Confidential Projects

To indicate that a project is confidential in order to limit user access, select Edit and mark the Confidential Project checkbox true.

Adding Users to Confidential Projects

Once a project is marked Confidential, users can be added to the project. Only these users will have access to the project. To add users to the project type their names into the Users to Add field and select Add Users. Multiple users can be added at one time and the Users to Add field has type ahead functionality where the system will suggest users based on what you have typed in the field.

After users are added, they will display in the Users Allowed Access grid. User access can be removed by clicking the "X" icon in the grid. Likewise if a project is no longer confidential, the Confidential Project flag can be removed and access to this project will revert to all users having access.

Allowing Data Entry To Anybody On A Confidential Project

Some confidential projects still need the ability to have anybody enter Activity or Safety data against them - even if the user is not on the authorized user list. The Allow Data Entry setting next to the Confidential Project settings allows anybody to log Activity or Safety data against that confidential project. Those users will have access to view the records that they entered, but not others. People on the authorized users list have the ability to view all records on that confidential project - regardless of who entered them.
