Table of Contents

Purpose

The Specimens section contains the details about the actual sample and the specimens (cylinders, beams, cubes, etc.) created.

Specimens Section

In Concrete Field, this is the screen you need to enter information specific to the specimens you are collecting for this sample.  

FieldDescription

Starting Set #

  • For specimen-based sample types a starting set number can be define for the first sample / sample type added to MetaField for a project

Specimen Size

  • Size of the specimen (cylinder, beam, cube)

Cast By

  • Who cast the specimen
  • Defaults to the current user

Sample From

  • Where the material was sample from (chute, mixer, pump, etc.)
  • Not required if Cast By = "generic user" (i.e. contractor, client, etc.)

Time Sampled

  • The time the material was sampled / gathered
  • Not required if Cast By = "generic user" (i.e. contractor, client, etc.)

Time Cast 

  • The time the material was cast
  • Not required if Cast By = "generic user" (i.e. contractor, client, etc.)

Sample Location / Notes

  • Specific details / notes about the sample location and any other notes specific to the sampled material
Lab Instructions
  • Instructions / notes for testing lab
  • Non-reportable (internal notes only)

Adding and Deleting Specimens

Specimen records will default based on what is defined in the Administration and Project Specifications module.

FieldDescription

Test Age

  • The test age of the specimen

Hold

  • Indicates if the specimen is a "hold" (backup) specimen that is only planned for testing if needed

Field Cure

  • Indicates if the specimen is a field cure specimen
Add New Specimen (button)
  • Allows for a new specimen record to be added
Delete (button)
  • Deletes the specimen record

The blue header bar for each specimen will display the test age and the calculated test date. Hold ad Field Cure specimens will also be noted.
