Characteristics

  • Enter in the soil characteristics of the One-Point test

One-Point Test

  • Enter / Select the respective fields to complete the One-Point test.

Pending Interpreted Values

Please note that you can mark the interpreted values as Pending. This allows the project manager to interpret the results in QC. Once these values have been entered, the One-Point test can be used for other testing.

  • NOTE:  You may also view the proctor/family curves image by selecting View Image.  The View Image button will not exist if there are not attachments to the proctor.  For instruction on how to attach an image to a proctor, see Soil Proctor Results
  • To see more proctor metadata, select the Show More Data button.

  • The Moisture Content Test is not a required portion of the test.

Field Notes & WBS

  • Fields notes are optional and internal notes only.
  • Fields notes are not reportable
  • Work Breakdown Structure will be available.
  • Select Finish when complete.

Save Test

  • Once all required fields have been complete, select. Save Test.
  • If any required fields have not been complete, MetaField will first highlight the section the missing fields are in.

  • Open a red highlighted section to complete the test.

Mold Volume Factor

Important

The Mold Volume Factor, used to calculate the Wet Density of a One-Point test, is used in place of the actual Mold Volume. The Mold Volume Factor is determined by the following:

Mold Volume Factor = 1 / Mold Volume

The One-Point Wet Density Calculation differs from that of say, a Drive Cylinder:

EXAMPLE

Drive Cylinder

Wet Density (pcf) = Wet Soil Weight (g) / Volume of Cylinder (cf)

One-Point

Wet Density = Mold Volume Factor x Wet Soil Weight (g)

The above One-Point math can be re-written as:

Wet Density = (1 / Mold Volume) x Wet Soil Weight (g)
