Specimens

In Concrete Field, this is the screen you need to enter information specific to the specimens you are collecting for this sample.  

FieldDescription
Starting Set Set#
  • For Cast Cylinder, Beam and Density Test Samples, you have the option of setting a starting set number.
  • This field is only available the first time you enter a sample (per each Sample Type).
Specimen Size
  • Choose the appropriate size for the specimens you are collecting.
  • Choices will vary depending on the Sample Type previously selected.
  • This list is controlled by your MetaField Business Administrator.
  • This is a required field.
Cast By
  • Enter the name of the person who cast or molded the specimens.
  • This should default to the logged in user.
  • This is a required field.
Sample From
  • Select a value that corresponds to where you took your sample.
  • This is a required field.
Time Sampled
  • Enter the time you took your sample.
  • You can either type in a value or select from the time picker.
  • This is a required field.
Time Logged / Cast 
  • Enter the time you took your cast or molded your sample.
  • You can either type in a value or select from the time picker.
  • This is a required field.
Sample Location / Notes
  • Enter information pertaining to the location in which you took your sample.
  • Additional notes can be added here.
  • This is a required field.

Adding and Deleting Specimens

Depending on how your system is configured, specimens may or may not be defaulted in for you.  
To add a specimen, select Add New Specimen.
To remove an unneeded specimen, select Delete.
 

FieldDescription
Test Age
  • Enter the age (in days) on which this specimen should be tested.
  • If configured in Admin or Project Settings, this my already be defaulted for you.
Hold
  • By selecting this check box, the specimen will be marked as HOLD.
  • Your organization will define how hold specimens are processed.
  • If configured in Admin or Project Settings, this my already be defaulted for you.
Field Cure
  • When this check box is selected, this specimen will be marked as a Field Cure.
  • Typically, a field cured specimen is cured in the field and brought into the lab just prior to testing.
  • If configured in Admin or Project Settings this my already be defaulted for you.

 

 

Alternate Sample / Set #

MetaField allows you to type in an alternate sample and set number.  Select the Alternate Sample/Set # button to expose these fields.
