Field - Soil Proctor Results

Table of Contents

Purpose

The Add proctor screen in Field is a form that allows field users to add basic proctor information “on-the-fly” for a selected project. Saving proctor results here will add the proctor to the LIMS proctor results table and allow any user to select that proctor on density tests being performed against the same project. This feature will come in handy if you perform Field Tests outside of MetaField to determine Max Density and Optimum Moisture prior to performing a density test. Another use case of this functionality would be if proctor results are given to the Field Tech on-site because a “pre-tested” material is being used.

Adding Proctors

Proctor results can be added in the Field module for users that have the necessary permissions. If you do not have the rights to add proctors in the Field module, you may need to contact your system administrator to update your permissions. Select Soil Proctor Results from the Field main menu.

All proctor results must be associated with a project. Before you add proctor results, you must select a project. Once a project is selected, select Add Proctor.

Add in required information and select Save. Note if the correct Soil Classification is not present in the dropdown you will need to contact your Materials Lab to get this updated.

After saving, you will receive a confirmation that the proctor has been saved successfully. After receiving this confirmation the proctor is available to be selected when performing a density test on the same project.

Viewing Proctors

Existing proctor results can be viewed in the field module. Use the View Proctor Results button after selecting a project to do so. In addition to the data points for a a given proctor, the proctor curve and proctor material image can be viewed as well (if it has been uploaded to the proctor record).
